Ardonagh and Towergate triumph at the 25th British Insurance Awards
Last week saw two big wins for The Ardonagh Group at the 2019 British Insurance Awards, as Towergate Insurance Brokers took home Commercial Lines Broker of the year, and Ardonagh was named ‘Best of the Best Broker’ as part of a special 25th anniversary category, voted for by the industry.
Held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the British Insurance Awards, hosted by Insurance Post, are designed to recognise and celebrate exceptional achievements in the UK insurance industry and are hailed as the largest and most prestigious awards in the UK insurance calendar.
The ‘Best of the Best’ category saw Aon, The Ardonagh Group, Bollington Insurance, Gallagher UK, Marsh and Willis Towers Watson go head to head in recognition of their achievements spanning 25 years.
Accepted by CEO of Insurance Broking, Rob Worrell, Ardonagh’s win celebrates the journey the Group has been on since its creation in 2017.
Commenting on the win, Group CEO David Ross said:
“To win this accolade and to receive the support of peers, competitors, insurers and the press is really meaningful. It truly is testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence, to caring for customers and to caring for each other through mammoth change.”
Ardonagh owned Towergate Insurance Brokers, was also awarded one of the most coveted prizes of the evening, in Commercial Lines Broker of the Year.
These wins follow previous success for Ardonagh at the British Insurance Awards, including victories in the Transformational Deal of the Year category for the last two consecutive years; for the HPS led re-financing of Towergate, and the creation of the Ardonagh brand following the hugely complex five-way merger of Autonet, Direct Group, Chase Templeton, Price Forbes and Towergate, respectively.
Further Ardonagh companies also shortlisted, but narrowly missing out on the night were Bishopgate in the Lloyds and London Market Broking Team of the Year and Atlanta (made up of Autonet and Carole Nash) in the Insurance Broker of the Year category.
